SUMMARY

The Distribution Center Processing Manager leads an hourly team and influences the entire distribution centers productivity; while ensuring that all the required work is run as efficiently and safely as possible. This role is responsible for ensuring prompt, efficient, and accurate handling of merchandise as well as developing and implementing team goals. This role is responsible for hiring, evaluation, development, and discipline of hourly associates. The Distribution Center Processing Manager duties and functions are to support inventory, integrity, Distribution Center production, and to ensure a safe, clean, and orderly work environment. The Distribution Processing Manager will manage all functions of an area of the DC such as Receiving; Put away, Picking and Shipping. Qualified candidates must possess the following experience and skills to be considered for this position.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Day-to-day operations of Distribution Center in various departments to monitor the daily processing of goods
  • Manage operations and work-flow in piece-based processing, pick and pack operations servicing company-owned retail stores, as well as end-user customers
  • Manage operations and work-flow of an e-Commerce fulfillment operation
  • Daily unloading and receipt processing, in order to maximize the DC's productivity and in turn, the stores' sales
  • Complete all required paperwork and logs correctly and completely
  • Constantly strive to improve and streamline processes
  • Maintain and ensure a safe working environment
  • Identify problems and opportunities and present viable solutions.
  • Maintain strong communication with the Distribution center management team.
  • Generate and analyze management reports for intra-department use
  • Loss Prevention- minimize inventory loss (internal, external and paper)
  • Promote a team environment, maintaining high morale while achieving maximum productivity
  • Oversee and participate in the timely receipt of all incoming and outgoing deliveries
  • Help solve problems and make informed decisions that affect the service and productivity of the receiving area
  • Ensure the accurate processing of all freight bills noting shortages, overages, damaged goods

**Note: Additional responsibilities may be assigned as business needs dictate.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds
  • Min 3+ years in an extremely fast-paced warehouse/DC/processing environment, while managing multiple departments with multiple direct reports
  • An organized leader capable of achieving efficient, effective results
  • Experience working directly with Corporate Merchandising and Store Operations' Teams as well as third party providers
  • Ability to see the big picture and manage with the end in mind
  • Experience working directly with corporate merchandising/Buying and retail store operations' teams, as well as, third party providers
  • Possess a high level understanding of WMS, EDI and Enterprise systems, including experience in process development, usage, and troubleshooting
  • Skillful use of Excel, Word, MS Outlook, Freight and Parcel company programs, handheld data collection equipment
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with Vendors, Buyers, Store Team, and Upper Management.

  • Capable of coaching team to success as well as holding them accountable for results
  • Ability to communicate with all levels within the company as well as professionally represent yourself and the company to our customers and partners
  • Inventory control knowledge
  • Forklift Certification a plus
