JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This is a supervisory role which includes opening and closing the store.
  • Maintain a positive work environment for all Cashiers
  • Responsible for ALL non-sales functions; including front-end and back-end operations of the store.
  • Monitor the work of cashiers on a daily basis
  • Ensure that each customer's transactions are processed accurately and in a time efficient manner
  • Perform cashier duties during cashiers' absence or extreme workload
  • Handle store operations in the absence of store managers
  • Supervise the activities of checkout stations on a constant basis
  • Generate and maintain account related reports
  • Manage bank deposit activities and make sure that cash is counted accurately at the end of each shift
  • Reconcile cash with receipts at the end of each shift and make sure that any discrepancies are managed immediately
  • Identify and address any accounts related problems on an immediate basis
  • Ensure that all items are appropriately displayed on shelves and oversee maintenance of store register area
  • Resolve employee conflicts and ensure that any customer complaints are handled immediately
  • Identify and correct cash register errors and take measures to ensure that further errors do not happen
  • Provide assistance with year-end inventory preparation
  • Ensure a consistent, quality store experience for customers.
  • Provide the highest quality customer service in sales and warranty.
  • Train & develop associates on operational functions; evaluate and develop them
  • Evaluate performance of cashiers and provide managers with information on appraisals
  • Manage store expenses; prioritize, plan, delegate, administrate and adapt to business needs
  • Maintain communication with Store Manager (SM), District Manager (DM) and Home Office team to stay abreast of company initiatives
  • Resolve cash tills at the end of every shift
  • Generate accurate till reports for each register
  • Manage and perform all check-out functions on a daily basis
  • Manage the check-out area and ensure each station remains clean and efficiently run
  • Respond to Cashiers requests for price checks and other functions for customer service
  • Ensure all stations have adequate cash and change at all times
  • Serve as the primary point-of-contact for customer service associate
  • Responsible for ensuring that your team delivers exceptional Customer Service that is consistent and above and beyond the Customers expectation.
  • Manage store expenses and payroll; prioritize, plan, delegate and adapt to business needs
  • Loss Prevention minimize inventory loss and maintain accurate cash control
  • Train & develop store team on selling strategies and continuous improvement.
  • Develop creative plans and strategies to increase store sales through business analysis, action planning and consistent accountability
  • Identify problems and opportunities and present viable solutions.
  • Ensure employees follow company policies and procedures
  • Promote Sun & Ski within local community
  • Maintain communication with Store Manager (SM), District Manager (DM) and Home Office team to stay abreast of company initiatives

Note: Additional responsibilities may be assigned as business needs dictate.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have organizational and time management skills, with ability to multi task
  • Analytical and problem solving skills, as well as, attention to detail a must.
  • 1+ years management experience; Ability to manage, motivate and develop. Head cashiering is a plus
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with Vendors, Buyers, Store Team and Upper Management.
  • Knowledge of business operations & shrink reduction
  • Outdoor Enthusiast: Passion for cycling activities, as well as, ski/snowboard, water sports, surf/swim, skate/skateboard and more!
